Join representatives from the Valley Children's Museum for their first annual TRYathalon. The Valley Children's Museum embraces STEAM programming because they believe it directly addresses the need for play-based educational programs in our region. The museum exists to provide fun, meaningful interactions for children and their friends, adults, schools and the community.
The Valley Children's Museum will host their 1st Annual TRYathalon event on Sunday, October 20th, 2019 from 8:00 -10:00 am. The event begins in front of the Valley Children's Museum trailer at Emerald Glen Park at the Gleason Street entrance. The TRYathalon is a fun, non-competitive family event that playfully mimics a real triathlon. Teams are made up of child and adult pairs who challenge themselves in three events: a Running Course (choice of a short fun run course, 1/2 -mile or 1-mile run), a Wheels Course (choice of fun course, 1/2 -mile and 1-mile courses; participants will need to bring their own tricycle, bicycle, stroller, etc.), and a Water Activity (a Raingutter Regatta that allows each child to build a miniature sailboat and then sail it to a finish line).
Registration is $30 per child and adult pair. There is $10 registration fee for each additional adult child that joins the team with a maximum of three people to a team. A $5.00 discount is available if registration is made before October 15th. Tickets can be purchased at: www.secure.givelively.org/event/valley-childrens-museum/ross-challenge-grant/tryathalon . Volunteers are also being sought for the event. To volunteer, please send an email to: Volunteers@valleychildrensmuseum.org .
